Our horsemanship camps create a fun and supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, and build confidence around horses.
Many campers attend with little or no horse experience, while others use camp as an opportunity to continue developing riding skills and confidence in a positive group setting.
Campers develop riding skills, horsemanship knowledge, responsibility, independence, communication skills, and teamwork through engaging hands-on horse activities throughout the week.
Whether a child is brand new to horses or already riding regularly, camp provides meaningful opportunities for learning, personal growth, friendships, and unforgettable memories.
During the school year, we offer day camps during holiday and seasonal breaks following the KISD calendar. Throughout the summer, we offer themed horsemanship camps filled with riding, horse care, games, activities, and hands-on experiences kids look forward to all year long.
And with horses, friends, and barn activities to enjoy, they won’t even miss their electronics!

Summer Horsemanship Camp Themes
Royalty Camp
Step into a royal adventure with horses! Perfect for beginner riders who want to learn the basics of horseback riding in a fun, welcoming environment.
Campers will meet and groom their horses, learn simple riding skills, and build confidence in and out of the saddle. Off the horse, the fun continues with horse-themed crafts, games, and plenty of laughter with new friends.
It's a magical 3 days of horses, creativity, and royal-level fun!

Barrel Racing Basics
Ready, set, turn! This camp is perfect for beginner and intermediate riders who want to build their skills, balance, and confidence around the barrels.
Riders will learn the fundamentals of the barrel pattern, how to guide their horse through smooth turns, and the tack and equipment performance horses need.
Through drills, practice runs, and supportive coaching, campers will improve their horsemanship while having a blast with friends who love horses as much as they do.

Challenge Camp
Put your horse knowledge to the test!
This fun and interactive camp is perfect for horse lovers who enjoy a little friendly competition while building confidence, teamwork, and horsemanship skills.
Campers will earn points daily through riding games, trivia contests, hands-on horse activities, and exciting challenges covering horse care, breeds, colors, tack, riding skills, and more!

Bareback Camp
Experience the joy of riding in its most natural form: Bareback!
This camp focuses on developing balance, feel, and connection with the horse while riding without a saddle. Riders will practice exercises that build a strong seat while moving in harmony with their horse.
With plenty of fun games and confidence-building activities, campers will discover just how rewarding bareback riding can be.
This will surely be a unique and memorable time in the saddle.

Horse Sense Level Up Camp
Ready to level up?
This camp is designed to help our students grow their skills by working through fun, achievable objectives in both riding and equine knowledge.
They will practice riding skills that build confidence and communication with their horse while also learning more about horse-care, behavior, and horsemanship.
Through hands-on activities, games, and time in the saddle, riders will have the opportunity to level up by the end of a week of hard work.

What to Bring
Our horsemanship camps are designed for children ages 4–14 and are intentionally kept small to help maintain a safe, positive, and hands-on learning environment for every camper.

Camps are suitable for ages 4–14.
Experience Level
Both beginners and experienced riders are welcome unless otherwise noted for specialty camps.
Safety Equipment
Campers are required to wear an equestrian helmet while riding. If your child has their own helmet, please bring it. (Bicycle helmets are not permitted due to different safety standards.)
FCRA does provide riding helmets for campers who do not have one.
Checklist
✔ Jeans or leggings for riding
✔ Boots with a low heel
✔ Equestrian helmet (if you own one)
✔ At least TWO water bottles
✔ Sack lunch with cooling pack if needed
✔ Sunscreen
✔ Cowboy hat, baseball cap, or sun hat
✔ Extra clothes/towel/shoes for water games (if applicable)
Optional Items
If your child owns riding boots, please bring them. We do have extra boots available to borrow, although sizing cannot always be guaranteed.
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is needed to reserve a spot and the remainder of your camp cost will be due within three days of submitting your Google form.
Limited enrollment will be on a first come first serve basis upon receipt of your deposit.
Most sessions will be limited to a maximum of 15 students, a few sessions will allow fewer students.
Good to Know
Campers spend much of the day outdoors and around horses, so comfortable clothing, hydration, and sun protection are strongly encouraged.
All participants are encouraged to unplug and fully participate in hands-on camp activities throughout the day.

Yes. Camp sizes are intentionally limited for safety and quality instruction.
Can My Child Be Grouped With a Friend or Sibling?
Yes. If wanting to be grouped with a friend, you must both notate that in the registration form.
